WHO WE ARE
“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the time you can. To all the people you can. As long as you can.” – John Wesley
The Least of These Ministries – is a mission-driven charitable organization that has been founded to offer an integrated package of financial and human development programs to the poorest of the poor with a single compelling mission of self-sufficiency.
Mr. Osaghae pondered whether he was doing enough to make a difference in the lives of those that are less fortunate and this became a burden that concerned him as a Christian. This concern viewed both from the prism of his profession, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and his charitable and board of director activities, has been a source of inspiration for Mr. Osaghae – inspiration to do “something” – given what he knows, sees and importantly what he could do.
As a CPA, Mr. Osaghae knows that the key performance measure of a nonprofit organization’s efficiency is the ratio of annual budget spent on programs (intended purpose) versus administrative and fundraising activities, and this tends to skew in favor of administrative/fundraising activities for several non-profit entities. This skewness has always made Mr. Osaghae question how much impact his charitable giving is actually having – perhaps more funds could be directed to the intended purpose than administration. With this in mind, he founded the Least of These Ministry and made a commitment to run it differently.
The organization was born out of Mr. Vincent Osaghae’s compelling desire to have an impact on the disadvantaged. Mr. Osaghae was born and raised in Nigeria before he immigrated to the United States in 1981. For more than a decade, Mr. Osaghae visited his parents in Nigeria annually. During his many visits, Mr. Osaghae was always burdened with the acute hopelessness and poverty which permeate his beloved Fatherland, Nigeria, and by extension other African nations.
Consequently, with this resolve, Mr. Osaghae shared his vision with select family members, close friends, and business associates (collectively the co-Founders) and they bought into the vision and committed to partner with Mr. Osaghae on this journey. With this in mind, he founded the Least of These Ministry and made a commitment to run it differently.
