Abbey Ogunbola MBA, MPA, Chairperson of the Board
Mr. Ogunbola is a recognized real estate development professional with expertise in affordable and market-rate housing in Chicago; having been part of a select United States Department of Housing & Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Builders (the Clinton Administration 1999) charged with assisting Public Housing Authorities (PHAs), City/Local Governments and Community Development Corporations (CDCs) build/re-build their communities. Mr. Ogunbola, in his 17th year at HUD’s Office of Public Housing Investments (OPHI), is the Senior Grant Manager at HUD’s Chicago Hub Office where is his primarily charged with managing the mixed-finance, mixed-income development component of the Chicago Housing Authority’s $10 billion Plan for Transformation, arguably America’s most ambitious public housing revitalization to date. Mr. Ogunbola holds both an MBA and MPA and is a certified: (1) Housing Finance Professional, National Development Council, New York, USA and (2) Community Builder Fellow, HUD/Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Mr. Ogunbola is a Methodist from childhood and continues to an active/faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Evanston, IL (Northern Illinois Conference); where he has served multiple tenures as: Chairman of the Finance Committee, Stewardship Committee, Staff & Parish Committee and other positions. Mr. Ogunbola also shares his gifts/talents with the Northern Illinois Conference where he is a member of the Conference Committee of Finance & Administration, Chair of the Subcommittee on Finance and an inaugural Red Door Fund Board member; Red Door is a mortgage program that has helped save many Methodist churches from the ravages of the past mortgage crisis.
Barrister Elizabeth Eguasa, LL.B. Hons, BL, Assistant Chairperson
Barrister Eguasa is the Principal Partner of Eseoghosa Chamber. She obtained her Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Sec. Science at Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi in 1976, Associated Degree in Sec. Science at Miami-Dade Comm. College, USA in 1978-1979 and obtained her bachelor of Law LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Benin, Benin City in 2001, Barrister at Law (BL) in 2005 from the Nigerian Law School and she is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association. Barrister Eguasa attended a six (6) week General Management Course at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria Topo, Badagry (ASCON), Nov. 1984 – Dec 1984. She has worked in several places both within and outside Nigeria. An author of several books including but not limited to “A Good Choice Makes a Good Future” and “Marriage A Divine Institution,” Barrister Eguasa is a humble, amiable and vibrant vessel of the Lord. She is an embodiment of a dutiful housewife and mother, who speaks from her 37 years’ experience in marriage. Barrister Eguasa is a deaconess and is happily married and blessed with six children.
Mr. Thomas A.O. Imokhai, B.Sc., MBA, Financial Secretary
Mr. Tom A. O. Imokhai, B.Sc., MBA is the Chief Executive Officer of TIP Insurance Brokers Limited. Prior to that he was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of SA Insurance Plc. Mr. Imokhai served as an Assistant General Manager of Marketing and Controller of marketing of NEM Insurance Company Nigeria Plc. He also served as the General Manager, Marketing and Business Strategy at SA Insurance Plc. Mr. Imokhai started his career with Rivbank Insurance Company, Port Harcourt, where he did his Youth Service in 1990 and later joined Guinea Insurance Plc. Lagos as an Underwriting Officer in 1991. He joined BAICO Insurance Plc. in 1991 as Head of Reinsurance Department. While in BAICO, he served as a Manager and headed various departments like Motor, Marine, Reinsurance and Claims. He joined NEM Insurance Plc. in 1998 as Senior Manager Reinsurance, and served as Deputy Controller in charge of Ikeja operations and later DGM, Marketing. He is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria, and a fellow of the institute of Direct Marketing of Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Insurance (1989) from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology and an MBA from Edo State University.
Mabel Osaghae RN, BSN, Secretary
Mabel Osaghae, RN, BSN is the President and Director of Nursing of Ultimate Home Health Care (UHHC), where she is responsible for the agency’s compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. Also, she oversees and directs all the agency’s nursing functions and consults for other home health care agencies. Prior to establishing UHHC, Mrs. Osaghae worked in different capacities as a nurse in hospitals, home-care nursing and clinics. At Crestwood Care Center in Illinois, she was responsible for preparing, administering and documenting medications and infusion therapy. At Ingalls Hospital, she was charged with ensuring that clinical services provided promote high quality standards. At First Consultant Medical Center and Ponders End Clinic Maternity in Nigeria, her duties included, but not limited to deliveries and giving post-partum nursing care. Mrs. Osaghae is a certified midwife in Nigeria and a registered nurse both in Nigeria and United States. She was the president of her class in the School of Nursing in Nigeria and the youngest nurse to be certified as both registered nurse and midwife. Mrs. Osaghae found her passion for nursing in her early twenties and has been plugging away at it since then. A devoted Christian, Mrs. Osaghae is married to Professor Vincent Osaghae and they blessed with three lovely children.
Angela Asemota, B.A, M.E, Board Member
Mrs. Angela Asemota holds a Masters of Education degree in Education from the University of Benin, Benin City and a Bachelors of Arts degree in Education from Delta State University, Abraka. She also holds the National Certificate of Education from the College of Education, Warri and Grade II Certificate from Anglican Women Teacher Training College, Benin City. Mrs. Asemota’s educational experience spans more than 35 years in different settings. She rose through the ranks in the Edo State educational system. She was an elementary school teacher at Agbado Model Primary School, Benin City in 1977 and taught at a number of high schools before she became the principal of Oghade Secondary School, Benin City where she retired in 2014. In her role as the principal, she was responsible for creating an environment for improving teaching and learning. She was also responsible for facilitating the school’s interactions with parents and other stakeholders in the community. Her several initiatives which included, but not limited to shared-decision making with teachers, resulted in student excellent achievements. Mrs. Asemota is married to Mr. Abiodun Asemota and they are blessed with four children. She is a deaconess at her church and participates effectively in the church’s activities.
Vincent Osaghae M.B.A., CIA, CPA, Executive Director
Vincent Osaghae, M.B.A., CIA, CPA, is a professor of Accounting in the College of Business at Chicago State University, (CSU) where he has been a member of the faculty since 1989. Prior to joining the faculty at CSU, Mr. Osaghae was the Capital Project Accountant at the Field Museum of Natural History and taught at various business institutions in Chicago. In recognition of his dedication to academic excellence, Mr. Osaghae was honored as the Outstanding Professor of the year in 2006 by the CTC/CSU Alumni Association. Mr. Osaghae is also the President of Osaghae & Associates, Ltd., a CPA firm with office in Illinois and Indiana. An avid marathon runner, Mr. Osaghae goes the extra mile to serve and satisfy his clients. Mr. Osaghae is a deacon at All Saints Christian Assembly in Calumet City, Illinois.
Janet L. Grange, B.S, CPA, J.D, Treasurer
Ms. Janet L. Grange is an Attorney, and a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Grange earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Professor Grange was a tenured associate professor of accounting in the College of Business at Chicago State University (CSU) where she taught and retired after 25 years. Courses she taught at CSU include, but not limited to, Advanced Federal Income Tax, Intermediate Accounting and Business Law. She is currently working at Osaghae & Associates, Ltd. CPAs where she is primarily responsible for tax planning and formulating tax strategies. Ms. Grange has held a number of high level tax positions in several prestigious companies such as Grant Thornton, Kraft Inc. and Deloitte & Touche. Ms. Grange has published widely on tax matters and is also a co-author of a widely used Business Taxation textbook. She is listed in several Who’s Who in America including Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who of American Women. She is a member of the American Bar and Illinois State Bar Associations.
